Recent Projects

St George Water Pollution Control Plant Optimization, County of Brant

G&M were retained to conduct an optimisation study of this aging extended aeration plant, in order to identify capacity and process limitations. The study included an evaluation of biological and preliminary treatment alternatives, assessment of assimilative capacity of the receiving stream, evaluation of sludge management alternatives and process modelling in conjunction with external consultants. The study included two comprehensive sampling programs, performed by G&M staff.

Gore Road Sewage Pumping Station and Forcemain, Region of Peel

G&M completed a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for upgrades to the Gore Road Sewage Pumping Station. Design and contract administration services were provided to implement the preferred solution including a new wet well, valve chamber and control building, three submersible sewage pumps with a firm capacity of 90 L/s, installation of 300 mm diameter HDPE forcemain using directional drilling techniques, and SCADA upgrades.

Hwy 23 Sewage Pumping Station Upgrades, Municipality of North Perth

As the result of a risk assessment and performance assessment conducted by G&M, station upgrades were completed including the installation of three new dry pit submersible pumps with a firm capacity of 295 L/s complete with variable frequency drives (VFDs), forcemain rehabilitation and valve replacement work.

North Perth Wastewater Treatment Plant Septage Receiving and Transfer Station, Municipality of North Perth

G&M completed the design and contract administration for upgrades to the existing septage receiving station in order to increase capacity, protect and improve downstream wastewater treatment processes and reduce operation and maintenance problems. The project included an in-ground concrete equalization tank, screening unit, automatic access system, SCADA upgrades and biofilter odour control unit.

North Perth Wastewater Treatment Plant Process Modifications, Municipality of North Perth

Following extensive studies of the wastewater treatment plant including a pilot plant study, optimisation study and desktop modelling, G&M completed design and contract administration to upgrade the plant to a biological nutrient removal (BNR) system. Existing aeration cells were converted into two anoxic/aerobic reactors, the jet aeration system was replaced with a fine bubble diffuser system and aeration tanks were equipped with internal recirculation pumps with variable frequency drives complete with SCADA system upgrades.
