Recent Projects

Eramosa River Hydraulic Analysis, City of Guelph

G&M performed a hydraulic analysis of the Eramosa River Dam. The purpose of the hydraulic analysis was to determine the need for the existing dam as it relates to the function of the Arkell Springs recharge pump located 100 metres upstream of the structure. As part of the scope of work, the Conservation Authority’s hydraulic model was updated from HEC-2 to HEC-RAS and existing data was supplemented with additional river cross sections created from a topographic survey conducted by G&M.

Carroll Pond and Lesic-Jassel Municipal Drain, Township of Puslinch

G&M were appointed as Engineers under the Drainage Act to drain Carroll Pond in Aberfoyle, in order to reduce the threat of flooding. Two new stormwater management ponds and an 1150 metre, 900 mm diameter storm sewer were constructed. The project was selected as the "Most Innovative Municipal Drain" in 40 years at the Annual Drainage Engineers Conference.

Brooke Area Stormwater Management Study, City of Owen Sound/Township of Georgian Bluffs

G&M completed the assessment and planning of six drainage basins, which are located on the boundary of the two Municipalities. Recommendations were made for high, medium, low priority capital works projects.

North Perth Drainage Project Class EA, Municipality of North Perth

G&M completed a Class EA Study to identify existing drainage concerns in the southeast section of Listowel and developed a drainage system to service existing and future needs of the study area. The study included the design of a stormwater management facility to meet current MOE and Conservation Authority guidelines, creation of a drainage outlet and upgrades to municipal infrastructure, including storm sewers and drainage channels.

Big Creek Water Management Study, Norfolk County

G&M worked as part of a project team to characterize groundwater and surface water resources for the Long Point Region Conservation Authority related to the Big Creek Water Management Study.
