Survey Party Chief / Construction Inspector (Guelph Position 2008-101)

  • With a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience completing detailed topographic surveys, construction layout and inspection, including layout calculations and the downloading/uploading of data, you wish to expand your abilities to include construction inspection.
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills, experience with total stations, robotic total stations and GPS equipment, AutoCAD 2007, LDD and possess a clean and valid Class G driver's licence.
  • The ideal candidate is motivated, able to work independently, results driven and enjoys working outside.

Construction Inspector - Contract Position (Guelph Position 2008-102)

  • With 10+ years experience keeping detailed project records, including liaison with contractors, project stakeholders and the public, you wish to work on a project by project basis providing construction inspection services for sewer, watermain, road and area grading projects.
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills, are familiar with OPSS and municipal standards, and possess a clean and valid Class G driver's licence.

Intermediate/Senior Environmental Engineer/Hydrogeologist (Guelph Position 2008-103)

This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to lead, mentor, develop and manage a team of dynamic professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Provision of hydrogeological services in the areas of water resource management, waste management and contaminated sites.
  • Develop scope of projects, manage multiple projects, writing and reviewing of proposals and reports.
  • Lead and manage a core group of environmental technologists and hydrogeologists.
  • Business development and client relations.
  • Design, co-ordination and implementation of hydrogeological assessments.

The following skills, experience and qualifications are required;

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of environmental consulting experience in Canada dealing with site characterization, site remediation, and physical contaminant hydrogeology. Experience in groundwater modelling would be an asset.
  • An undergraduate or advanced degree in engineering or earth sciences or related field preferred.
  • Registered as a P.Eng. or P.Geo.(Ont.) or eligible for immediate registration.
  • A working knowledge of provincial legislation and regulations, and industry standards in soil and groundwater sampling practices and principles.
  • Excellent technical writing and oral presentation skills are essential.

Municipal/Land Development Engineer (Kitchener Position 2008-401)(Listowel Position 2008-301)

  • With a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience you are eligible to obtain your Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation and have experience completing municipal infrastructure, land development and stormwater management projects.
  • Under the supervision of a Professional Engineer the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting on design projects, evaluating design alternatives, preparation of detailed design calculations and reports for municipal servicing and stormwater management projects, construction cost estimates, permit applications, contract documents and specifications, coordination of activities with sub-consultants and field supervision.
  • You are organized, have strong oral and written communication skills and experience with AutoCAD 2007, as well as hydrologic (MIDUSS and Otthymo) and hydraulic (HEC-2 and HEC-RAS) modelling software.
  • The ideal candidate is motivated, able to work independently and as part of a larger team.

Municipal/Land Development Design Technologist (Kitchener Position 2008-402)(Listowel Position 2008-302)(Owen Sound Position 2008-201)

  • With a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience completing the design, drafting, surveying and field supervision of municipal infrastructure and land development projects you are a graduate of a CET program and are eligible for registration with the OACETT.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the completion of the grading, drainage and servicing design of various development projects ranging from site plans to condominium developments to subdivisions, as well as for a variety of municipal infrastructure/renewal projects and road reconstructions. Experience with the preparation and completion of cut/fill analysis, construction cost estimates, site surveying and construction inspection is an asset.
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills, and experience utilizing AutoCAD 2007, LDD, and Civil 3D software.
  • The ideal candidate is motivated, able to work independently and as part of a larger team.
